John’s experience covers Mining, Energy and Natural Resources, Manufacturing, Professional Services and Tourism and Leisure sectors as both CEO/COO and advisor to CEO/COO, having worked in Australia, Europe and Asia Pacific. He has also operated as a Non Executive Director (including Chairman) for a number of Not for Profit organisations. John has extensive experience in corporate turn-arounds. In addition he has also worked on a number of assignments including, the role of “back office” functions within organisations and the value they add, and leading well structured pragmatic management processes to realise the benefits from major changes in business activity through merger and acquisition.

Over the last five years, John worked extensively with an ASX 200 listed mining company running two major acquisition and consolidation programs. Paramount in these programs was the retention of the positive culture as well as the commitment of both management teams to continue to operate the business and not be distracted by the transactions.

As the National Managing Partner Consulting of KPMG Australia, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, John ran an organisation with a turnover of $140m, employed 875 people and counted the majority of the ASX top 50 blue chips among its clients. In the economic environment of the late 90’s, John instigated and implemented a program within the business to adjust to changing market conditions and reposition the organisation for sale to a Nasdaq listed company, which was achieved in late 2001.

John is also an experienced, senior executive mentor and coach.
