To address changing market circumstances and position the organisation for future growth, Sheldon Harris Consulting was engaged to review and enhance the capability of the Board and Executive of a retail bank.



Working with the Board initially, SHC developed a profile of the ideal candidate for the CEO position and then conducted an extensive search to appoint an outstanding candidate. Upon the appointment of the CEO SHC then worked with the successful candidate to conduct a high level review of the organisational structure as well as the bench strength and capabilities of the current Executive. Over the following 12 months SHC embarked on a program that led to a new Executive structure and the appointment of five new members to the leadership team. Upon completion of this scope of activities we were then engaged by the Chairman to assist with a Board renewal program. Again, this process involved working with the Board and other key stakeholders to define the core attributes required to provide the necessary governance and direction for the organisation and then implementing that program.


The appointment of a CEO, five new members of the executive leadership team and four Non-Executive Directors. The financial institution has now undertaken a significant restructure to better position itself with its customers in the new digital economy. The organisation is now starting to achieve strong asset growth.
